Tanzania: The Ultimate Beast Retreat – From £4,200pp, Excluding International Flights

Chimpanzee

Uniquely isolated in Tanzania, surrounded by over a million acres of wilderness, this 8 day safari is set in one of the last remaining true wilderness areas of Africa…

Most of your time over the first few days will be centred around lakes Chada and Katavi, which are more like open grasslands in the dry season, and wetlands during the rains. Visitor numbers are limited here for optimum wildlife viewing and you can find large numbers of hippo, elephant, crocs and other thirsty savannah game as they congregate around these watering holes. Staying at the beautiful Chada Katavi Tented Camp, you will combine both walking and driving safaris and even 'fly-camping, with total flexibility according to your interests. Set overlooking the plains of Katavi, there are just 6 ‘tents’ set into the shade of acacias, each with stunning views.

The second leg of your adventure is set at the private Greystoke Camp, at the foot of the Mahale Mountains. Here you will have two full days to track one of the largest habituated groups of chimpanzees through your lush tropical jungle surrounds, a privileged chance to spend time with these intelligent apes in their natural habitat. You will also have direct access to a private sandy beach with as much boating, fishing, canoeing and forest walking as you like!

Price Per Person Sharing: From £4,200

Dates: Tailored to your requirements.

For a details itinerary and quote, please contact us and we will send through further details by return.

Congo & C.A.R: Tri-National Park Gorilla & Culture Safari – From £3,750pp, Excluding International Flights

Lowland Gorilla, Congo © Will Bolsover

Few people have the opportunity to travel somewhere like the Republic of Congo or Central African Republic, wild, beautifully challenging and relatively untouched, this is a true African experience, not for the faint-hearted.

This 11 day safari will take you deep into the Congo Basin, travelling in a small group, you will be split even further travelling to the Lowland Gorilla Research Camp where you will track habituated gorillas, a long walk (including about 30 minutes wading waist deep in a swamp), but very scenic. The other half of the group will head to Mbeli Bai to an observation point where it is possible to spot the gorillas as well as forest elephants, sitatungas, red river hog, buffalos, Brazza Monkeys, Black & White Colobus monkeys, crocodiles and much more. The next day the groups will swap activities.

The second leg of your adventure is in the Central African Republic where you will have four full days in Dzanga-Sangha National Park. Here you will track gorillas with local Ba'Aka guides at Bai Hokou in groups limited to just 3, and visit Dzanga Bai, a magical clearing great for spotting huge herds of forest elephants. You will also have the unique opportunity to go net-hunting with the Ba’Aka  men and women, an incredible experience, although fairly brutal, so those who don’t wish to witness the hunt can hang back and learn about their traditional ways of life.

Price Per Person Sharing: From £3,750

Dates: Oct 17 - 28

For a detailed itinerary and quote, please contact us and we will send through further details by return.

Rwanda & Tanzania: Gorillas, Beach & Game – From £5,500pp, Excluding International Flights

Young Mountain Gorilla in Rwanda © Will Bolsover

Starting in Rwanda, your first few days of your 12 day safari will be amongst the most challenging and exciting you have ever undertaken - exploring Rwanda’s undulating hills and unique landscapes in search of the endangered mountain gorillas. With just 790 of these individuals left worldwide, you will have the chance to track them twice, with a fully trained and qualified guide for anything from 2 to 9 hours. Your group will be allowed a maximum of an hour with the gorilla group who, despite being in no way tame, do sometimes like to show off in the presence of intriguing humans…

Moving on to Tanzania, enjoy game drives in the world renowned Serengeti National Park where you may spot migrating herds of wildebeest and zebra (season dependent), elephant, giraffe and a whole host of other species. Not forgetting of course that the central Serengeti has one of the highest concentrations of lion prides, leopard and cheetah! Here you will have the option of a balloon safari as the sun rises over the plains and the animals come to life and you might even spot the rare black rhino in the Moru area.

The last few days are at the beautiful beach hideaway of Ras Kutani, sit back, relax and reminisce over your African adventure on a perfect white sandy beach, right next to a fresh-water lagoon and tropical forest.

Price Per Person Sharing: From £5,500

Dates: Tailored to your specifications.
